Inspired by the actions of age and wear on what was once sturdy lumber, this painting is just a touch more about surreality and beauty than it is an attempt to be realistic. The way that the view of the surface is cropped, is intended to bring a sense of abstraction to what is essentially realistic.

This subtly-colored painting relies heavily on actual texture from acrylic mediums for it's acute depth and definition.
