Inspired by the actions of age and wear on what was once sturdy lumber, this triptych is just a bit more about surrealityand beauty than it is an attempt to be realistic. The way that the view of the surface is cropped is meant to bring a sense of abstraction to what is essentially realistic. The same holds true for the division into three panels.
